盐田港区内共有企业20余家，中外员工近6000人在盐田区委区政府和盐田港集团党委的推动下，区港建立联动机制，成立全国首家和谐劳动关系促进协会，包括盐田国际、盐田港股份、盐田拖轮、盐田港国际资讯等在内的港区企业，积极发挥基层党组织的作用，以席大大新时代中国特色社会主义思想和党的十九大精神为指导，发挥先进典型的示范带头作用，以党建引领促和谐，努力推进劳动关系协调机制建设，打造和谐模范劳动关系，为新中国成立70周年营造了良好的和谐氛围
据悉，为推进构建和谐劳动关系，从2005年开始，原劳动保障部会同全国总工会、中国企业联合会/中国企业家协会在全国部署开展了创建劳动关系和谐企业与工业园区活动，并先后于2005年和2007年进行了两次评选表彰
